Remembering the Abstract
Q. As someone who has had experience of working in those groups, it seems to me that most people who utilise Gurdjieff’s theory seem to be looking from a purely psychological frame.
A. You're right about the psychological frame. It hit me also last night, when I was having a think about the octave & law of three, that all contemporary understanding turns the theory into a tool for personal use, for Me.
The whole message seems to reduce it to a psychological tool for people to sort out their life & relationships etc.
But what's happened to the Vastness, the Absolute, the Infinite Incommensurability? You understand this, don't you?
It's got to be the heart of the Work, to remind of the impersonality of the universe, which alone gives our human lives true meaning, and scale, and a measuring stave for development. They are one and inseparable -my life and the cosmos- each giving meaning to the other.
Half human is not human.
