Meeting with Power

Q. When you meet someone who shares your awareness and commitment to inner work, a close bond seems to spring up immediately, as of 'kindred spirits' even if meeting for the first time. What is the basis of this feeling?

A; It derives from meeting on a ground which is neither social nor transactional as is the norm, but is indeed both 'old' and very close because it is common and belongs to neither person nor personality. It's a taste of freedom, recognising something outside the usual human parameters.

Power was actually underlying your meeting. right? That was the dark ground you both sensed, which you share, but when it’s unfamiliar it is translated into emotion. You let it rest. I think Power is essentially quiet, exercised only when needed. Power opens roses without announcing itself, and I think the reason God is omnipotent is that He is awfully quiet and characterised by absence!

Q. What do you mean ‘characterised by absence’. I’ve never understood this. Could you elaborate?

A. I didn't mean God is absent, but not easily 'findable' , so the paradox is that the vast Power which creates the universe hides in silence and non-appearance, revealing itself to human gaze only here and there in tiny (relatively) or unexpected manifestations---apart from the universe itself, but that's a silent testament, and clearly very easily overlooked......!

Is that clearer?

It's just the point that real power holds itself in unless necessary to be expressed, and therefore has a quality of ‘dark’ and hidden, not on the surface. Of roots.

These musings are responses to a context, a time, a place, a query. Another time, another context. An angle slightly different, a different response, perhaps seemingly in contradiction.

But Truth is present if it resonates truthfully, and in the process should generate more questions...
